Snell just introduced the new Phantom Center loudspeaker, a center channel speaker that is a counterpart to the company’s Phantom B7 Tower.
Similar to the B7 Tower, Phantom Center has dual 4.5-inch machined XL magnesium midrange drivers that are mounted over and under a very low-resonance 1-inch SEAS XL silk dome tweeter with neo-magnet. The design of the loudspeaker seeks to bring smooth axial dispersion of sound.
The Phantom Center also features dual 8” aluminum woofers, as well as discrete crossover boards for bass, midrange and treble reduce distortion. This allows triamp (triwire), biamp (biwire) and single amp connectivity. The Phantom Center will be available in March 2010, and will go for a suggested retail price of $7,500.
The Phantom B7 loudspeaker was first shown at last year’s CES, and is available for $25,000 for a pair. Snellacoustics.com
